Hearts Child Care Centres have been
in operation since 1989. Our experienced staff, convenient and colorful
locations, and excellent programming enable us to provide you with
exceptional childcare services. We constantly strive to ensure that
our programs and centres are up to date.
Hours of Operation:
- Matheson Location: 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Milverton Location: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Eglinton Location: 7:00a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- We are open all year round, closed only on statutory holidays.
Ages
- Matheson Location: Infants to 6 years of age
- Milverton Location: 18 months to 6 years of age
- Eglinton Location: Infants to 6 years of age
- Summer Camp offered for children up to 9 years of age
Class Ages and Ratios
- Infants 6 wks to 18 months 1:3 ratio
- Toddlers 18 to 30 months 1:5 ratio
- Preschool 2 ½ to 4 years 1:8 ratio
- Jr. Kindergarten 4 to 5 years 1:10 ratio
- Sr. Kindergarten 5 to 6 years 1:12 ratio
Qualified Staff
- We are committed to hiring qualified and experienced staff.
Each group has a minimum of 1 E.C.E. teacher and our assistant
teachers have their E.C.A or previous experience in the field.
- The staff at Hearts is required to submit a criminal reference
check upon hiring.
- All staff is required to be trained in First Aid and CPR.
Programs:
- The programs at Hearts Child Care Centres offer a wide range
of different areas in the classroom: creative, cognitive, language,
dramatic play, circle time, science, sensory, block play, books
etc.
- For the Pre-school and Kindergarten children we also offer phonics,
math, computer, social studies and much more.
- All of our children enjoy outdoor play twice a day in our age
appropriate playgrounds. The Infants also enjoy walks in the strollers
twice a day.

Meals and Snacks
We provide the following for Infants:
- Homogenized milk,
- Unsweetened juices,
- Table foods and snacks.
For the older children we provide:
- Morning and afternoon snack.
- A hot lunchtime meal.
- We serve 2% milk and unsweetened juices.
We have a full time cook on staff and all of the meals are prepared
on the premises. Fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats are purchased
weekly.
What Parents Provide
Parents are asked to provide:
- Infant formula and cereal.
- Diapers, wipes,
- Change of clothes,
- Sunscreen
- A blanket for rest time.
- Preschool and Kindergarten children will also require a toothbrush.
Housekeeping
- The centres are professionally cleaned
on a nightly basis
- All toys are sanitized regularly.
- All plates, cutlery and cups are washed
and sanitized after every use.
- We provide sheets for the beds and the
cribs, which are washed week
