At Hearts Child Care Centres we strive to provide exceptional care and programming. We have also implemented many services and events that make our centre unique and exciting to be a part of. "hearts is truly a special place to be."

Following is an outline of our special "extras".

• Parent's Night Out: This is one of our most popular event. Be sure to ask us for more details .

• Gymnastics: This is offered to our Junior and Senior Kindergarten children on a weekly basis.

• Haircuts: Haircuts have become a very popular service over the years. This option is offered about every six weeks for the children.

• School Photographs: We have a visit from the school photographer in the fall and in the spring. They take both individual and sibling pictures. Class group photographs are also taken.

• Summer Camp: We offer a Summer Camp program for children six to nine years of age. This is very popular with our older brothers and sisters. Daily craft activities, sports, and recreational games are planned for the children. Weekly field trips are a treat for the children.

• Field Trips: We plan field trips on a monthly basis, for our Kindergarten classes, throughout the school year, to enhance the curriculum and to have fun. During the summer months, trips are planned on a weekly basis to compliment our Summer Camp program.

• Scholastic Books: We are members of the Scholastic Book Club and once a month the children receive a catalogue with many books, games and CD-ROMs that can be purchased at a discount price from the stores. With every purchase that you make, the school receives free books and bonus points towards classroom materials.
  
  

  Each classroom has Reading Centres, The children enjoy storytime daily

• Halloween: This is a favorite time of year for the children and at Hearts we celebrate in true style! All of the children and teachers, dressed in their Halloween costumes, Trick or Treat at the local offices and businesses. Of course, many of the parents work nearby making the event even more special for everyone. The children enjoy a classroom party with games and a special snack.

• Christmas: Another favorite time of year! At Hearts we enjoy many fun events at this time. The season starts with an opportunity for Pictures with Santa. The classes are very busy practicing for the annual Christmas Concert, which everyone comes to see. In addition we also plan Christmas parties, which include a visit from Santa, Christmas lunch, and fun games for all.

• Special Occasions: We recognize and celebrate many other special days and holidays; Valentines Day, Pancake Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Thanksgiving. We introduce the children to the many different cultures and their celebrations.

• Graduation Ceremony: We are always very proud of the children's accomplishments, especially our Graduating Senior Kindergarten children, many of whom have been with us since Infants. Such an important occasion could not pass without recognition. Therefore, we hold a Formal Graduation Ceremony. Although an emotional evening, it is also one of special memories.

• Summer Carnival: Our annual Summer Carnival is always looked forward to. It is our "thank you" to you, the families for your patronage throughout the year. It is a fun day for all.

• Kids Helping Kids: At Hearts we believe in teaching children the importance of helping others that may be less fortunate than us. Every year we support the Children's Hospitals of Ontario with a walk-a-thon in which all of the children participate. We also support the Chum City Christmas Wish with a toy drive. Food drives are held at critical times of the year to support the local food banks.
